I’m so excited to have scored the complete set for about $4!! We are switching to a more literature rich curriculum this year and I am so excited!!!! We purchased three new bookshelves and I am having too much fun stocking them with rich living books, most of which I’m finding at thrift stores!! Woot!!

Do you teach a foreign language in your homeschool? I’m sorry to admit that I stumbled upon this box in a garage sale, didn’t really know anything about TalkBox.Mom so I stuck it in a closet.
It wasn’t until a friend mentioned this was what she was using to teacher her kids Spanish that I remembered I had it also!
I watched a few YouTube videos of other moms using this program and I’m so excited to jump in!
I already contacted the company to get set up for the next box!

I love the fresh start of a new week! All the less

I love the fresh start of a new week! All the lessons planned out, and activities scheduled.

This week will will focus on Holy Week. I'm keeping it simple this year with just a reading plan for each day that I grabbed off pinterest and a few simple crafts.

This is one thing I love about homeschooling! We get to choose what we focus on and what is important to us. I can make our Bible study the main study this week and base all our other subjects like math, spelling, literature, and nature study all fit into this weeks focus.

I can’t believe how quickly five years has gone by!! Five years ago today I went into my full time job and quit! I’ve never felt more free, or like I am fulfilling my purpose! I’ll never regret choosing my family over a career!!!!

I’ve now taught two of my kids how to read using

I’ve now taught two of my kids how to read using post it notes! I love watching them work to sound out the words and how excited they are when it connects and they figure it out! Judah was so excited!!
I personally love letting them go at their pace rather than an expectation of when they should be able to do something.
I went slow with Judah because he had some speech mechanics we needed to work on first. But he’s been dying to read the Bible, yup I love that, and because he’s been wanting to read so badly he just took off!!
I will never regret “giving up my career” in finance to stay at home with my kids. There is no greater honor or privilege than to raise my children and teach them each day. I can’t imagine any greater joy than watching their little (big) personalities emerge and spend my days, even the bad ones, doing life together with my children.
Life does not begin for them once they graduate from school, so seize these precious moments with them while you can, you can’t get these moments back.

It’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself

It’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself and I’ve had a few new followers in the past few months, so allow me to take a moment to tell you a little about me 😊

✨ I am a stay at home mom to 3 amazing kiddos, a 10 yo girl, 6 yo boy, and 5 yo girl.

✨ I have been married to my amazing husband for nearly 13 years.

✨ I am a follower of Jesus

✨ we live in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina

✨ I homeschool our kids and my husband works from home so we are all together each day and we LOVE IT!!!

✨ I didn’t realize I was crafty until after I left my FT job and started homeschooling

✨ over the past few years I’ve tried out a few different kinds of crafty outlets. Everything from polymer clay to most recently, embroidery. But I’m finding fiber art is my favorite 😍

✨ so for now I am focused mostly on macrame, weaving, and starting to do more with embroidery

✨ with every medium I’ve used, earrings are always my bestseller

✨ I love doing vendor markets so if you are local you can catch me at them from spring - fall

✨ finally, being a homeschool mom with my kids every day, they are by far my priority. I’d love to see my little business take off and have several orders come in each day, but while my kids are young, my time raising them is most important to me. So there may be days or even weeks when I’m not on here much but I’ll always be back! And rest assured, I am always making something in the background!
